Selima Djait

Programme Assistant

Selima joined the IIJ in 2022 as a Programme Assistant. She previously served as a Senior Policy Officer at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Tunisia, where she managed the Rule of Law and Security portfolio. Prior to that, she worked as a Programme Manager in several NGOs In Tunisia on democracy, good governance, and rule of law-related matters. Selima holds a master’s degree in Public Law and Political Science from the Faculty of Juridical, Political and Social Sciences of Tunis.

Gabriel Camilleri

Communications Assistant

Gabriel joined the IIJ in February 2020 as Communications Assistant and is currently supporting the implementation of the IIJ Communications & Outreach Strategy, including social media outreach. Prior to joining the IIJ, he worked as a Parliamentary Assistant to a Member of the European Parliament and worked on various policy areas as well as coordinating the communications department. Gabriel holds a Bachelor of European Studies with Communication from the University of Malta and a Master’s degree in Creativity and Innovation from The Edward de Bono Institute for Creative Thinking & Innovation.

Roksolana Burianenko

Administrative Officer

Roksolana joined the IIJ in 2017 and is currently the Administrative Officer. Prior to assuming this role, she served as a Programme Assistant and provided support to various programmes within the framework of the IIJ Core Initiatives, including initiatives on Investigations and Judicial Capacity Building. Roksolana holds degrees in Political Science and International Management as well as Master’s degrees in Conflict Analysis & Resolution and Mediterranean Security.

Pawel Tverskoi

Programme Assistant

Pawel joined the IIJ as a Programme Assistant in 2020 and supports various programmes, including the IIJ Juvenile Justice and Addressing Homegrown Terrorism Initiatives. He has previously worked as an Intelligence Analyst with international security consultancies in the private sector, focussing on travel risk management, risk communication and crisis response, and as a Lead Researcher for a conflict analysis publication. Pawel holds a degree in International Relations and a Master’s degree in International Administration and Conflict Management.

France Lemaire

Programme Assistant

France joined the IIJ Team as a Programme Assistant in September 2019. She supports various programmes, including the IIJ Global Central Authorities Initiative and the IIJ Returning Foreign Terrorist Fighters Initiative, while providing assistance to the Procurement Officer. She previously served as a Manager for international education companies offering study abroad and cultural exchange worldwide. She also acted as an Operations Team Leader during the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union and for EU’s Fourth High Level Edition of the Our Ocean Conference. She has a Master’s degree in Intercultural Negotiations.

Allison Curtis

Senior Manager, Communications & Strategic Planning

Allison currently serves as the Senior Manager for Communications & Strategic Planning. She first joined the IIJ team in 2016 as a Programme Manager, where she managed the Global Central Authorities Initiative and launched the Addressing Homegrown Terrorism Initiative. She previously served as a Policy Analyst for the Global Counterterrorism Forum’s (GCTF) Administrative Unit in The Hague, with portfolio responsibility for the Criminal Justice and Rule of Law (CJ-RoL) and the Detention and Reintegration (DR) Working Groups. She joined the GCTF from the Australian Embassy in Washington, D.C., where she was a Research & Liaison Officer, then Senior Policy Officer, working on the counter-terrorism, national security and legal portfolios. She has degrees in law and journalism, and a Master’s in International Relations – Peace and Conflict.

Abibou Bello

Programme Assistant

Abibou joined the IIJ team in 2018 as a Programme Assistant. Previously, he served as Cultural Mediator and Programme Assistant with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM Malta) for more than five years. In 1998, he was amongst a cadre of French foreign language teachers sent to Nigeria to provide technical support under a bilateral agreement between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Republic of Benin. He has a degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (Didactics), and post-graduate awards in Teaching French as a Foreign Language, and Commercial Translations.
