Intelligence-Led, Evidence-Driven Counter-Terrorism Investigations
The IIJ’s partnership with Cameroon under the IIJ Investigations Initiative has delivered significant and sustainable impact. Operationally, Cameroon has established a multi-agency Joint Investigation Unit and the Head of the Gendarmerie Training Academy reported that the lessons learned during the IIJ workshops have been introduced into the training curriculum for all new officers. Moreover, each agency group involved in the IIJ project have outlined their next steps for improving their approach to intelligence-led, evidence-driven counter-terrorism investigations in accordance with internationally-recognised good practices and recommendations.
